00300 The Frozen Fusion Hack.

00800 The Stanford user software known as FAIL, LOADER, SAIL, RAID,
00900 and LISP are integrated into a display oriented package under new
01000 symbol table routines and new dynamic storage allocation routines so
01100 that Cart Project programs can be more rapidly developed. This hack
01200 is not a research project in the sense that no new ideas are being
01300 developed and no future development of this system will occur. This
01400 hack is not a systems project in the sense that no programmer is
01500 coerced to use it. Finally, this hack provides an alternative to
01600 Prof. Feldman's policy of encouraging strategy and planning research
01700 work on LEAP and SAIL while neglecting the interests of programmers
01800 who need a dependable and efficient Algol compiler. It is an
01900 exaggerated lie to say that Feldman is doing compiler research and
02000 freezing research in robotics, vision and geometric modeling; but the
02100 alternative I wish to provided is a frozen compiler so that research
02200 in geometric modeling, vision and robotics will not come to a stand
02300 still for six months just because compiler reseach is also being done
02400 at the same laboratory.
